Cloudy's Knight continues to amaze me.  I have ridden him now five times at five different race tracks and have four wins and a second.  He just keeps getting better and better.  Today was no different.  Jonathan Sheppard had spoke to my agent earlier in the week and said that Cloudy was having a great time galloping in the snow. Today Jonathan came to speak to me about our game plan for the race.  Precious Passion was the obvious speed of the race and the rest of the field looked like it was going to be scattered thru out.  Jonathan asked me what I thought and I said I am going to let Cloudy place himself in the race and let him dictate to me where he wants to be.  He is well seasoned and knows how to win.  Jonathan agreed and said you ride him how you know best.  The race set up better than I would of ever expected.  Instead of Precious Passion going out to the front by himself, he had company.  The rider on the other horse obviously thought the race was five and half furlongs because he was whipping and driving all the way down the stretch the first part of the race killing all chances for Precious Passion.  The pace was hot.  I was sitting back with the second flight of horses probably about 12 lengths or more behind the front runners.  Cloudy had his eye on the target coming around the last turn.  He was in full gear and flew past the front runner nearing the last 1/16th of a mile to win by a good length or two.  He knew he won.  He galloped out with his ears pricked forward and with confidence.  There are no words to describe the feeling when you ride such a horse as this.  This is what makes racing so special.  Cloudy's owners, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Schwartz looked very happy and excited when I got back to the winner circle.  Jonathan, Barry(assistant) and crew were also thrilled with Cloudy's performance.  To top off my day I rode the twelth race for my mother(Rosemary Homeister Sr.) on a filly named Stormy Lisa. The distance was 5 furlongs on the dirt.  The gate opened and Lisa came out running but not fast enough to goto the front with some of the others.  It took her a little time to get her legs going but once she got herself in gear she was ready to rumble.  Coming around the quarter pole turn, she was sitting mid pack and starting to make her run.  She got in full gear at the eighth pole and won going away.  My mother was delighted.  It feels so good to win for my mom.  That was my first win for her all year, but I only rode four for her.  The other three I had two thirds and a fifth.  My mom is a great conditioner.  She knows what it takes to get them ready to win at the races.  This was a special day for me.  Riding and winning again on my favorite horse and winning for my mom.  Can't get any better than that.  Tomorrow I will be riding five races at Tampa Bay Downs.  See you at the races!
