I am very fortunate this year to come in riding for trainer INGRID MASON. I started riding for her last year here and we got lucky winning right off the bat. The rest of last year I continued to have winning success for her and her barn.
I have ridden about 7 horses for her so far and Win one and have only been out of the money for her twice.
What an exciting win I had for Ingrid Mason.
Going into the race my goal was to make the lead right from the break and see how far my horse would go.
Shoot, shoot, shoot, putting my head down thinking I got beat the last jump. What a deflating feeling. As we galloped out after the race I felt defeated but gave Muazzaz praise for a job well done. I kept telling him "good boy" and petting him on the neck. As I pulled up next to the outrider, I told him "I just got beat the last jump at the wire. UGH!!!" Galloping back I just said a prayer to God and thanking him for a great race and said "you know I'll take a dead heat!"
When I got back around to the front side, I was anxious to see what the outcome of the race was. Boy was I shocked to see my number in first position on the tote board. I had an overwhelming emotion go thru my body and I was like YES!
