So many things go on daily at the race track. Things are always changing. Its like being on a roller coaster ride - sometimes your up and sometimes your down. Learning how to take it all in stride is a constant.
My last week of racing at Hawthorne was great. I rode eight races and win five. I think to myself, now why couldn't I have been doing this all along? But in racing its a steady constant of change. The horses always don't run the same, the race itself doesn't set up right, a jockeys mindset isn't always clear, etc... So many scenarios. But when everything does go right its seems you can do no wrong. It feels great to consistently win. Your confidence level is high and it feels so easy to win every race you go out to ride. I am so happy that I finished out my year on a winning note. I am now on vacation to rest my mind and body before having to start a new race meet at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
