Blind_Date_winning_Pearl_NecklaceI rode BLIND DATE today in "THE PEARL NECKLACE" $50,000 Guaranteed Stakes at Laurel Park.  The weather didn't cooperate to much this afternoon.  This race was originally scheduled for the turf course but was taken off due to poor weather conditions.  This change did not affect the winning outcome that BLIND DATE had in mind.  It came up a 5 horse race after 4 scratches.  We broke from the outside hole, BLIND DATE was anxious at the beginning of the race wanting to be on or near the lead, but I was able to get her to settle early about 1 1/2 off the speed horse.  When we hit the 1/4 pole she was ready to pounce on the two leaders.  I asked her for her run and she opened up by a little more than 3 lengths to a Victorious finish.  BLIND DATE is tall with a beautiful disposition.  She is all class and knows how to WIN.  I want to thank HAMILTON SMITH(trainer) and William Backer(owner) for giving me this opportunity to ride this amazing filly.
